Southport and Oak Island Real Estate
The 2.2 square miles that completes the Town of Southport has been the setting for numerous TV shows and movies including Firestarter, Weekend at Bernies, I Know What You Did Last Summer and A Walk to Remember. You could easily stroll the beautiful waterway, quaint residential areas or dine at area waterfront restaurants and catch a movie star.
Southport perches out into the Cape Fear River and is a location for catching the Bald Head Island Ferry. From here, you can travel the waterway to one of North Carolina’s most beautiful and quiet islands. The proximity to the Intracoastal Waterway makes Southport a frequent stop for maritime travelers, commercial fisherman and smaller vessels.
To the south, Oak Island is a lovely family-friendly beach community with a small-town feel. There are over 65 public beach accesses along the 10 miles of sandy beach. Golfing, cycling, fishing, boating, kayaking, and other water sports are available on the Island. Across the bridge, there are many additional golfing options.
