    Halyburton Park

    Hugh Macrae Park

    Wooded park filled with lighted fields and tennis courts, ample picnic shelters, playgrounds, splash pads, dog park, pond and a 1.5 mile trail.


    Carolina Beach State Park

    State park covering 761 acres on Pleasure Island. The park features six miles of hiking trails, a marina, campsites, cabins, picnic area and a visitors center featuring natural history exhibits. Various carnivorous plant species can be found on site.


    Greenfield Park

    Features boat launch, canoeing and kayaking, fishing and paddle boat rentals.


    Fort Fisher State Recreation Area

    4845, 1000 Loggerhead Road, Kure Beach, NC 28449 |


    287-acre state park including Fort Fisher, the site of a major naval engagement during the American Civil War and a museum. The area also features an oceanfront beach pavilion, large lagoon popular for windsurfers and a long stretch of beach accessible by 4-wheel drive vehicles only. The beach is a nesting ground for sea turtles.

    Smith Creek Park

    Lake boating and fishing draw visitors to this preserve with a walking path, playground and picnic area.


    Ogden Park

    Public park featuring lighted tennis courts and fields, youth stadium, a skate park, dog parks, off-leash park, restrooms, playground, picnic shelters, workout equipment, event space, pond and walking trails.


    Northern Regional Park at Castle Hayne

    Public park featuring baseball fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, disc golf course, picnic shelters, playgrounds and restrooms.


    Northeast Creek Park

    Beautifully maintained ball fields, a regulation frisbee golf course, grills, covered tables, restrooms, playgrounds and a boat launch that can serve 2 boats at a time.


    Jacksonville Commons Recreation Complex

    Largest green space of all the parks within the city limits. Home to award winning ball fields, a skate park, BMX park, tennis courts, meditation labyrinth, gardens of the states, an amphitheater, play area and an indoor basketball court.

    Public launch on the New River featuring a green space and walkway along the water as well as a welcome center. Includes a kayak launch and boat slips that service up to 3 boats at a time.
