Should I get pre-approved for a home loan or talk to a real estate agent first?

We find that home buyers ask this question quite often. The fact is, many people start their home search by viewing houses online (and if you’re finding them on our website, by saving them to your property portfolio!), but sometimes there is confusion on whether you should contact a mortgage professional or real estate professional first.
There is a benefit in contacting a real estate agent first. Many real estate agents have relationships with quality vendors including mortgage professionals, and they can recommend a few trustworthy professionals to you. At CENTURY 21® Sweyer & Associates, our agents are not the only ones that have relationships with mortgage professionals that they know and trust. We also have a relationship as a company with Alpha Mortgage, a locally owned and operated mortgage company, and our experiences with them have been fantastic. We believe that when you contact a real estate agent first, you get the service from a mortgage professional that you deserve.
